Launch of AS Dulat's book, Kashmir: The Vajpayee Years

On July 21, 2015, the Pran Sabharwal Foundation hosted the launch of AS Dulat’s book, “Kashmir: The Vajpayee Years” at the Claridges Hotel in New Delhi. The Vice-President of India, the Honorable Shri Mohammad Hamid Ansari, was the Chief Guest at the event. Former Union minister and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, was the Guest of Honor. Noted television journalist Barkha Dutt held a discussion with Dr. Abdullah and Mr. Dulat at the event. This discussion was later aired on national television as an episode of the popular show on NDTV, The Buck Stops Here.

"Ji, Jaisi Aapki Marzi" at Modern School

On December 16, 2014, the National Commission for Women (NCW) and the Pran Sabharwal Foundation (PSF) presented “Ji, Jaisi Aapki Marzi,” a play by Nadira Babbar and Ekjute, at Modern School, Barakhamba Road, New Delhi. Lalita Kumarmangalam, Chairperson of the National Commission for Women, was the Chief Guest for the occasion, and Ashok Pratap Singh, President of the Board of Trustees of Modern Schools, presided over the event. The NCW and the PSF collaborated to organize this event with the aim of encouraging constructive discourse on such pressing social matters as gender discrimination and physical safety of women.

Empowerment of Acid Attack Survivors

On February 21, 2015, in the Teen Murti Auditorium in New Delhi, the Pran Sabharwal Foundation, the National Commission for Women, and the Amar Ujala Foundation hosted a National Seminar entitled “Adamya - The Indomitable,” on the topic of empowerment of survivors of acid attacks. The Honorable Home Minister of India, Shri Rajnath Singh, was the Chief Guest for the event, and the Chairperson of the National Commission for Women, Smt. Lalita Kumarmangalam, presided. The daylong seminar consisted of panel discussions on the use of the CSR initiatives of PSUs for rehabilitation of survivors, the policy and legal issues of concern to all stakeholders, and the availability of affordable and effective medical treatments.
